College Search

Explore U.S. colleges by school, state, multiple cities, institution control, campus setting, undergraduate size, average net price, annual cost, and optional SAT/ACT score ranges. An optional field-of-study and award-level filter uses historic IPEDS completions, not verified current program offerings. Cost figures are descriptive federal averages—not individualized offers.

Cost and financial aid filters Optional · average net price and annual cost

Majors, programs and degree levels Optional · historical 2024–25 completions

Historical program evidence, not a current program catalog. This filter identifies colleges that reported completing awards in a given subject and degree/certificate level during July 2024–June 2025. It does not confirm the program is offered now, the exact institution-named credential, or professional license eligibility.

Start typing a subject, common name, or interest, then choose the closest suggested field. A CIP code works too, but you do not need to know one. These terms help find classifications, not verify individual college program titles or licensure.

Open this section to search fields of study in everyday language or by CIP code.

Sources: NCES IPEDS 2025 Completions and NCES 2020 CIP classification. Records are joined by exact UNITID, CIP6, and AWLEVEL. An absent record does not establish that an institution lacks a current program.

Optional SAT/ACT score filters and comparisons No testing settings applied
Optional SAT score range — reported school average

Both ends at the defaults means no SAT filter. School average, not an individual admission cutoff.
Optional ACT score range — reported school midpoint

Both ends at the defaults means no ACT filter. School midpoint is a descriptive source value.

How net price and annual cost are calculated

Average net price is the published average after grant and scholarship aid for eligible first-time, full-time federal-aid recipients (in-state students at public institutions). Annual cost is an estimated cost of attendance before grant aid; reported tuition and fees are included within annual cost, not added on top. Actual costs vary by program, residency, living arrangements and aid.

How safety, target and reach labels are estimated

      * SAFETY, TARGET and REACH are broad approximations under a conventional admissions-categorization shorthand. They describe only how a personally entered SAT or ACT score compares with 25th, 50th and 75th percentile score bands where those data have been verified. For SAT, total-score bands are estimates made by adding separately reported reading and mathematics percentile values, not officially reported composite percentiles. They are not concrete predictions or projections of admission, nor admissions probabilities. A “SAFETY” designation does not guarantee an offer. Where an institution has historical rather than fall 2024 test scores, the shorthand is based on that earlier cohort and is especially uncertain. Admission policies, test optionality, academic record, application context and competition may change outcomes; the reported score bands reflect enrolled students, not all applicants.

      About this data

This directory uses the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard institution data snapshot dated . It includes 6,243 institutions reported as operating in that source. It is not an independently verified list of every accredited U.S. institution.

Optional field-of-study matching uses the 2025 NCES IPEDS Completions file (July 2024–June 2025) at six-digit CIP 2020 and award-level granularity. Historical awards are not proof that a college currently accepts students into that program, awards a particular named degree such as BSN or AAS, or qualifies graduates for a professional license.

SAT uses the source institution-level reported average (SAT_AVG). ACT uses the current composite midpoint (ACTCMMID), or an actual reported composite 50th percentile (ACTCM50) when filling an older gap. Score comparisons use the reported 25th, 50th, and 75th percentile section scores (SATVR25/50/75 and SATMT25/50/75), or ACT composite scores (ACTCM25/50/75). Each result card identifies its test-score source and cohort. When an exam is missing in the fall 2024 data, an earlier fall 2023 or fall 2022 source may be used, clearly marked Historical. Historical results are not necessarily representative of current admissions standards. Not every school reports scores; sliding a range excludes schools missing that metric. The optional comparison label is intentionally hidden without a personal score and verified percentile evidence. No TOEFL test-score dataset is included. School names, locations, website links, annual cost, tuition and net prices are descriptive published source figures, not quotes or admissions predictions. Tuition and fees are part of annual cost, not an additional amount. Where the source has no website address, the listing says “School website not reported.” Verify current details directly with each institution.
