April 2025 · Project Management Institute

In April 2025, I earned the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification from the Project Management Institute.

The credential formalized a body of project-management work I had already been applying across higher education, workforce development, curriculum, grants, events, partnerships, and program operations: defining scope, coordinating stakeholders, managing timelines and dependencies, tracking outcomes, identifying risks, and translating complex work into repeatable systems.

Project management across education and workforce programs

Much of my project-management experience has developed in environments where the work is both operational and human-centered. Programs have involved students, faculty, employers, instructors, funders, administrators, external partners, and competing deadlines—often with limited room for error and a strong need for clear documentation.

That has meant building trackers and workflows, coordinating cross-functional work, developing curriculum and resources, managing events and launches, monitoring performance data, and adjusting implementation when conditions change.

Continuing professional development

After earning the PMP®, I continued building project-management expertise through PMI professional development. In June 2025, PMI also issued me the Generative AI Overview for Project Managers digital badge, reflecting additional training in the use of generative AI within project-management practice.
