In October 2023, I presented as part of Hostos Community College’s inaugural Global Education & Career Showcase, an event connecting global learning, Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), and career readiness.
Alongside Career Services Director Lisanette Rosario, I presented on the HACU/HSI Grow With Google Career Readiness Program, including ways its digital and professional-skills resources could be incorporated into student learning and career development.
Connecting curriculum and career readiness
The session focused on more than introducing a resource library. We discussed how faculty and students could connect academic and global-learning experiences to concrete career competencies, including the National Association of Colleges and Employers’ career-readiness framework.
That work was part of a broader effort to make career development easier to integrate across the college rather than confining it to one office or a single appointment. My role included expanding faculty engagement with Grow With Google resources and helping translate those materials into practical pedagogical applications.

Hostos later highlighted the showcase in its institutional newsletter, noting that sessions led by Lisanette Rosario and me shared tools and practices such as Grow With Google to help students build career and technical skills alongside their academic programs. Public event coverage also credited my work supporting the showcase’s organization and expanding faculty engagement in the program.
